Robbie Pickering

Martha Was Right

Producer, writer and director, Robbie Pickering’s career trajectory originated in his childhood when he decided to become involved with film production in some way. He followed through on that decision graduating from the Undergraduate Film Production Program at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He was awarded a Lew Wasserman Screenwriting Award and a Warner Brothers Production Grant for his short film “Prom Night”. The film, a raucous comedy about an awkward boy’s chaotic senior prom, screened at film festivals around the world and became Pickering’s second short film to win the Student Film Award at the Hamptons International Film Festival. He wrote and directed “Natural Selection,” which premiered at the 2011 South by Southwest Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Award, the Audience Award, as well as awards for Best Screenplay, Best Editing, Best Score, and Breakout Performance. Since then, he has gone on to write and produce “Mr. Robot”, “Freaks of Nature” and “The Kitchen Sink” along with “Gaslit.”
